Batheaston Garden Group

Batheaston Garden Group was founded in 2008 and runs a programme of events related to gardens and gardening. The Group welcomes members from all parts of Bath and the surrounding area.

Events are held once a month throughout the year. During the winter months, these are talks, usually on Wednesday evenings. Speakers have ranged from experts in practical aspects of gardening, specialist plant nursery owners and head gardeners from National Trust and other well known gardens.

In the summer the Batheaston Garden Group organises a series of visits to gardens or nurseries of interest and beauty. Batheaston Garden Group has been able to visit some gardens not usually open to the public including Highgrove, Stavordale Priory and Arne Maynard’s garden at Allt y Bela.

Transport to visits is usually in individuals’ own cars, however BGG can arrange car-shares to help those without transport and to minimise the number of vehicles used. Visits to gardens are subject to admission charges set by the venue and are open to members and their guests only.

Talks are free to members. Talks are open to non-members; pay on the door, no need to book. Details of admission charge for non-members can be found on our website.
